Methodology
How we score
Roundup sites rank whatever pays best. We score on the same rubric every time and tell you exactly what goes into it, so you can trust the order.
The Fit Score
Every crutch gets a 0–10 score in five categories. The overall Fit Score is the average.
- Comfort
- Handle ergonomics, cuff fit, shock absorption, and how it feels over a long day, not just a quick walk across a room.
- Durability
- Build quality, materials, hardware, and weight capacity relative to the price.
- Portability
- Weight, whether it folds, and how easy it is to travel with or stow.
- Adjustability
- Height and fit range, lock security under load, and how well it adapts to different bodies.
- Value
- What you get for the price, including warranty and accessories.
How we keep it honest
- We score on the rubric above, the same way for every product. Affiliate commissions never change a score or a ranking.
- We weigh different needs separately, so a budget pair can win "best value" without pretending it’s the most comfortable.
- We disclose affiliate relationships clearly and update picks as products and prices change.
A note on one product: the In-Motion Pro is made by a company some of our team is connected to. We score it on the same rubric as everything else, and we say where it wins and where it doesn’t. See our disclosure.
